Computer Software Online Training

Computer Software Online Training

Computer software online training courses can include any program that you may use on your computer. These computer software online training courses have been created to help make it easier for individuals and career minded people to learn the skills they need for the programs they will have to use. If you are going to be using Microsoft office on your computer at home or for a job, you may need to learn the ins and outs of the program. There are several little commands on every program that can help you streamline your work and make things move a little faster.

You will find that the computer software online training courses vary. Some of the training courses only exist to help the layperson learn a little more about how to use programs, while other courses are actually there to get you a degree in the IT field. You will be able to learn valuable skills for whatever your purposes are. Computer software usually takes a few minutes to work through the program by clicking on the various toolbars and seeing what you have. However, there are a lot of individuals who feel just clicking might get them into trouble, which is where the online training course comes in. You will be able to work right from your home through the courses making it easier for you to get through the tutorials.

The computer software online training courses offer step-by-step instruction on how to use the various toolbars and task that the program has. For instance if you are going to use excel as part of the word program the tutorial will walk you through the various functions of the spread sheet, how to create formulas, and how to create graphs. You will also be taught every basic function for the program. Once you have completed one of these computer software online training courses you should be able to trouble shoot most of your problems.

The IT courses will take you a step further in how to install the computer software and how to uninstall it. An IT tech may also learn more in depth trouble shooting techniques involved with the computer. Most IT tech’s will also be learning the computer software jargon that most lay people find too confusing and unnecessary for the daily function of the programs they will be using.

When you are choosing your computer software online training course you may wish to stay with the same company because of the benefits offered. Most companies have a per class price or a per year price. This means you will be able to take just what you need or you can take as many classes as you need for a set cost saving you money. If you are looking to join the computer software industry as an IT tech you will need to find a reputable online university to help you gain the certifications you need. It is best to find a company or online school that will offer all of the programs you will need to learn, as there is monetary benefit.

There are some computer software online training courses that are just out to make a little money off of the gullible. You will want to research the company before you consider paying for the classes. You may even wish to take a sample tutorial to make sure you are going to learn the information you need to know.

Computer software can be confusing for the individual who has never used the programs before. These online training courses are meant to help you work through some of the problems you may have and help you become more adapt with the program. When you are on a deadline, it is important to be able to troubleshoot your own problems rather than wait for an IT tech if it is minor, like recovering a file. You will find all that and more as part of these online courses.

Children’s Online Games

Children’s Online Games

While the World Wide Web expands, more and more individuals are getting online for all of their necessities and for their enjoyment. Online games are just one of the many different ways to enjoy the internet. But, there is a newer trend happening right now. Instead of just throwing our attentions to online gaming atmospheres, we can also allow our children to enjoy the wider world of entertaining online. But, is it safe? And, even if it is, should we allow our children to be using online gaming at all? Is it any better than them sitting in front of a television?

Many parents simply do not have the time to monitor all the activity their children are having online. All parents need to know that there are many predators online that are seeking out our youngsters. But, there are ways to prevent them from coming near to our children. For example, in online gaming rooms, you can easily disable chatting and interaction. You can also disable instant messages as well. Yet, an even more effective manner for protecting our children while they are online is to simply keep the computer they will be using right in the living room, the kitchen or in any area that is open where you can see what’s going on just by turning your head. When parents are aware of what is going on while their children are online, they can keep their children better protected. And, it’s never too soon to talk to your children about stranger danger even on the computer.

Okay, but what about the gaming? Should we allow our children online to play games?

It is important to break down some age levels here. For children who are young, it is essential to allow them time to learn about computers, but you need to do it in a one on one situation. In these cases, there are many games that are actually quite beneficial for them to play. Many games can teach reading skills, math skills, and many other aspects of learning. And, because it is fun, kids simply love to do it. They enjoy the colors, the sounds, and the idea of playing with Mommy or Daddy. It’s a great time for some bonding as well.

Then, we can look towards the older age. Those who enjoy cartoons on television will love the games that focus around these topics. And, you’ll find many games that do. Online games like these can help with motor skills and computer usage skills. But, why not teach them a little by getting them into a different type of game, one that will challenge them. For example, word puzzles and just puzzles in general can stimulate the mind in many ways. Or, teach them a little history with a program like Oregon (or Amazon) Trail in which they need to survive a treacherous trek through the wilderness. Even older children can benefit from the “Sim” games as well. The less violent ones are better because they teach your little entrepreneurs to use many skills to build cities, buildings, companies…you get the idea.

When it comes to allowing teens online, you really need to allow at least some online time. At that age, they are into communicating with their friends through email and instant messages, but interactive games are very popular. Competing against friends is a definite need that many kids have. Is it any worse or any better than a Playstation or Xbox system? Probably not, but at least they are interacting with others. And, you can somewhat monitor their actions or limit their internet exploring when you provide them with what many ISP’s are offering and that is parental controls on accounts set up just for kids.

So, where does that leave us and the online gaming world? Should children be allowed online? Yes, we believe that kids of all ages should at least have the opportunity to learn how to use the computer. It is an essential skill. But, what about playing games? Yes, they need this too. In a safe environment, there are few other places that you can play so many games for a low cost. They can learn from them as well. You can monitor just what they are doing. If you are a parent trying to figure out where you stand with your children being online, consider it a learning experience to allow them to surf with you, even if it’s just once. Then, you will be able to see just what is out there to offer your children and how well they enjoy it.

Don’t Throw Away That Laptop, Get A Replacement LCD Screen

Many people are paralyzed when their laptop computers are broken or damaged. They are willing to do almost anything or pay any price to get the offending piece or part replaced so that they can get on with their lives.

One part that is especially vulnerable on a laptop computer is the screen. An LCD screen, the type of screen that is used in most laptop computers, is very vulnerable to scratching or other damage.

Investing even an hour or two into finding the right price and an honest repairman could make all the difference in the quality of repair that you get.

However, that extra hour or two that you should spend shopping for replacement LCD screens usually won’t get your computer back to you any faster and may end up costing you time.

Look for local places with good reputations. Call around and ask about pricing before you show up. You may also want to call friends, family, and acquaintances for recommendations.

Actually, the ideal time to locate honest and good computer repair people is when you first get your new computer. After the warranty runs out, you will need to take care of problems yourself.

It could be a scam of some kind and taking action would be very difficult and expensive. Staying close to home is usually a much better and quicker policy.

Video Game Evolution – What Could Possibly Be Coming?

Video Game Evolution – What Could Possibly Be Coming?

A PC game is a game that is played on a computer just like it is played on a PSP or an Xbox. You just put the game in the system and start playing. If you do not play video games then you shouldn’t be reading this article. A computer game is just like a video game a do not know why other people tend to disagree. In a video game you have all the same things you have a processor that processes the game. Then you have your graphics card or cards. Yes graphics cards are in every gaming system so if you thought a computer was different then video games then you are wrong. The only reason that computers will get better graphics is because video games are limited to their upgrades and that is why you will get booted out of games because you are not supposed to upgrade a system that is already upgraded enough.

You all have probably heard all we had back in my day was pong. Well pong is long gone and the age of the video game has taken over. There are so many video game systems that you can buy to play video games on these days. Like you have the PS2, you have the Xbox, you have the Xbox 360 and now you have the PS3. Like what is going to come next after the PS3. I don’t think anything can come next. I mean I have heard something about a PS4 but I am pretty sure that wont happen anytime soon at least while I am in the video game era. All of these gaming systems are expensive but they are all worth the money if you like to play video games.

Today we live in the world of video games and fantasy. So you are going to have those games that are out there and are kind of crazy. You are also going to have those games that are fun to play and are hard at the same time. You are even going to have games that require you to use your brain and think through the game. Those types of games tend to be the types of games that you have to be sneaky in like the new splinter cell and those kinds of games.

The end of the 70’s is when you were seeing the first home based video game systems and systems that you could plug into the wall and start playing all you had to do was hook it up to the TV and the plug in the wall and you could start playing.

Soon came to be the PC the personal computer. That soon became the weapon of the future and everyone would soon be using one of these. If you didn’t have a computer by the 90’s you were still considered to be living in the dark ages.

There are all kinds of different games that you could have played. You had fighting. Shooting, shooter, racing, I mean you had all the games that you could think of to play and people chose to get computers and start playing computer games.

Even though video games are something that you like to do everyday and wish that you could skip school instead of going to your class you still have to go to school to get your work done so you just need to go to school and then when you get home you still have so many hours to play before you have to study for that test. You just need to focus on what you need to do, not what you want to do.

Windows Part 1: Un-Install Programs, Update Windows, Defragment Hard Drives

Windows Part 1: Un-Install Programs, Update Windows, Defragment Hard Drives

Take back control over your windows computer!

Part 1: un-install programs, update Windows, defragment hard drives

This is the first of many more articles to come. I will show you step by step how you can take back control over your windows computer. Just follow my instructions and soon you will be using your computer to work or play again instead of spending hours trying to just keep it running. Best of all, I won’t try to sell you anything. I will show you ways to do many things on your computer for free. As with most instructions, please read the whole thing before doing anything.

Lets start with a little house cleaning. Close all programs on your computer. Click on the “START” button in the bottom left corner, select “Settings”, then “Control Panel”. A new window should have opened up. Double click on “Add/Remove Programs”. This will show you most of the programs installed on your computer. Go through the list and if you find any that you installed, but no longer need or use, just un-install them. This will free up disk space. Some un-install programs will ask you to restart your computer. When you are done go ahead and restart again. Windows loves to be restarted. Be careful that you do not un-install programs you are still using and also do not un-install any Windows updates. Basically, if you don’t know what it is, don’t touch it!

After a clean restart, we will now make sure your computer has the latest updates installed. Click on “START”, then on “Windows Update”. If you do not have Windows Update in the START menu, open Internet Explorer, then click on Tools, then on Windows Update. Follow instructions on the Microsoft Update website and install all available critical updates for your computer. Restart when prompted to do so. Also, select to automatically check for updates. But do not select to automatically download and install them. You always want to be asked before downloading and installing updates! This can take a long time and just let your computer do it’s thing. You can do something else in the meantime. Restart when you are done.

Now that your computer is updated and we’ve also done a little house cleaning, it is time to de-fragment the hard drive. Windows is not very efficient in where it puts stuff on your hard drive. After a while it gets fragmented. But Windows includes a tool to clean that up. You should do this at least once a week if you use your computer on a daily basis. Double-click the “My Computer” icon on the desktop. A new window will open and show you all hard drive, CR ROM drives and other storage devices connected to your computer. In most cases your main hard drive will be labeled the “C:” drive. If it has any other letter, that’s OK too. Right-click on it, then select “Properties”. Another window will open. At the bottom to the right click on “disk cleanup”, then select all check boxes. If you have off-line web pages, do not select them. If you don’t know what they are, you probably have not used that feature and can select it. Then click on “OK” and on “Yes” in the confirmation box. Once this is cleaned up, click on the Tool tab and then on “Defragment now”. In the new window, click on Defragment again and let the computer defragment the hard drive. Depending on the size of your hard drive, this can take several hours, especially if it’s the first time you do this. Just let it run until it is done. Repeat these steps for all other hard drives you have on your computer.

That’s all. You have now deleted un-needed programs, updated Windows and de-fragmented your hard drive. Restart your computer and your computer will be more secure and run better than before. Check back for more articles on how to take back control over your computer.
